I cannot connect an AZ-EQ5 with ASIair. I've used the supplied cable (Prolific chipset it seems) and plugged it
in the hand controller using the SkyWatcher supplied cable (db9/usb); it did not worked. I've tried with various baud rate
and it is still the same, ending up with the *failed to connect* message.
I've plugged the mount to a pc using the same cables and it is detected so that should rule out a defect cable.
For good measure, i tried another cable that uses an FTDI chipset; same thing.
I've also tried to use the internal usb connection of the mount which also uses a Prolific chipset; that too did not worked,
The ASIair is working, it connect to an ipad, detect the main camera (294) and the guide camera (174).
The mount hand controller was upgraded with the latest SW firmware ;4.39.04
I've also tried toggling on and off the pc direct mode of the hand controller.
Before connecting with the air, the mount is on and ready to go (just like if it was aligned).
In the telescope settings, SkyWatcher SynScan is selected.
Tested Eqmod Mount selection instead with various cables and baud rates; no go...
So this is where i'm standing right now. Any ideas?
