Connecting ASI120MC to Laptop

Hello all,

I am writing to inquire about the issue I encounter when connecting my USB2.0 ASI120MC camera to my new laptop which has USB3.0 ports. After I connected the camera, it doesn’t connect to either PHD2 or Sharpcap therefore I went to Device Manager to have a check under the imaging devices, it says:

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

Insufficient system resources exist to complete the API.

I have tried many solutions, it just didn’t work out, including troubleshooting, trying different port on the laptop, making sure the latest drivers are installed properly, restarting the laptop, uninstalling the USB Root Hub… And I heard that updating the firmware of the camera could solve the problem, if it is so, does it really lower the frame rate and affect PHD2 guiding very much?

The other laptop works fine with the USB3.0 ports.

For your case, the 120MC is our 1st generation product, so it has some compatibility problem with the new computer. Usually, you just need to update the compatibility firmware from our website, it will solved.

You can run it on another computer which could run the camera normally.

After the update, if the camera still could not recognize, please try to use it with a USB2.0 hub.
