Hi all
I already own a 174MM for doing solar Ha imaging. I would like to get a larger sensor but am concerned about the speed of full frame captures. Which cameras support hardware binning and what speed can I expect for full frame captures? Anyone have any experience with this? Any recommendations are appreciated. Thanks
James
Hi James
You can try 1600MM series.
I test it in ASICAP with RAW8, Bin2, hardware bin, highspeed mode, USB speed 100,
the frame rate can up to 47.7

Looking at the specifications for the 1600MM Pro from this website I see that they only list 12 and 10 bit depth. Is it possible to record in 8? While 47.7 fps is not lightning fast that would be a vast improvement over the 23 fps as stated for 10 bit and Bin1.
Yes, you could record in 8bit.
