ASI 1600 Mono Pro vertical patterns in frames

Hello,

It appears that I am suffering the same problem as experienced by other users on this ASI1600 mono pro which I bought less than a month ago and just tried, for th first time, last weeek.

I am here attaching a master dark made of around 15 acqusitions of 100 sec, gain =0 and offset 21 acquired with SGP and stacked with Pixinsight,

I am so attaching the Master Bias and the Super Bias made with Pixinsight.

Obviously there is a problem. I have also sent you an email yesterday but probably you have not seen it

Please advise how to proceed.

Hi Tom,

Can you point out your problem clearly?

Beside, I think you can send us the original fits/tiff file, include 2-3 single frames and master fields.

Good morning Chad,

The problem is the following:

MasterDaks made of collection of darks collected with SGP at t=100sec, Gain 0, offset =21 and T= -20, show vertical patterns which in my view should not be there. I am an experienced astrophotographer and posses different CMOS and DSLR and this is the first time I see this issue

I have done several test this weekend and found out that the vertical lines tend to dissapear when the T > 0 deg or when the exposure time is greater than 3 minues.

I am attaching here

- MasterDark t=100sec, T= -20

- MasterDark t=100sec, T=0;

I am attaching also MasterBias and SuperBias and they look also NOT GOOD.

All master have been done with Pixinsight and then stretched.

I can send you all the files you need via wetransfer. Please let me know which file do you need.

If you wish we can continue over emails.

Just send me the images you think are problematic. If it is stacked, do not forget also send me some single frames that it is used for stack.

Hi Farzad,

Actually, I just received this conclusion.

This kind of line is caused by the sensor, the only way to solve it is calibrated by dark and flat filed.

the recommendation is to not use bias frames and instead, to use dark-flats which will contain the bias information and be more consistent.
