ASI294 Cooled Camera--all imaging is mono

More often than not, with this camera, I cannot get color imaging out of it. I've read about pipp, the RGGB settings for this camera, but I can't figure out any sure way to get color out of this camera and looking for help.

I think you should check the image's format. If it is saved without debayer, mono is usual.

Hello Chad,

Thank you for taking on my question and issue. I am using Sharpcap 3.2. I also have An ASI224 color camera that gives me no issues with color. What settings can I choose to ensure debayering. I don't see anything in sharpcap. I've used pipp, AS3!, but none of my imaging shows color, even though the camera settings text file shows im using color. Here is one example of my text file I receive:

Temperature=-14.8

Cooler Power=38

Target Temperature=-15

Cooler=On

Auto Exp Max Gain=332

Auto Exp Max Exp M S=1

Auto Exp Target Brightness=50

Mono Bin=Off

Hi Gary，

Can you take a screen shot with SharpCap? And upload it as a attachment.

Maybe we can find something. For your current settings, it is fine. But most of them does not affect the color.

Hello.

I have the same problem. When i take the picture with ASICAP or APT through ASCOM, i see the picture with colour, but when i want to read the .fit archive with another program to process i see the image in mono and wihtout debayericed. What settings can I choose to ensure debayering?

Hi,

Usually, we use fit file to save the original file, it does not include the color. So if you want to save the color, you should convert it, after that, save it again.
