Hi again.

For this camera, using Firecapture for DSO imaging, what are the settings for debayer?

I need to ensure I have all the correct setting to get the best color for both the preview and saved images.

I will be using the camera settings for 16 bits, Tiff output and RGB, for the OSC (no filters) imaging.

I also need to know which debayer method (algorithm) should be used, such as bilinear, nearest neighbor etc.?

Hi Fivel,

In our SDK, we use the method of averaging nearest neighbors. And we also provide raw data, so you can choose the debayer method you want。

Chad, thank you again for the info.

I did some testing and the "VNG" debayer method worked the best for my setup.

Also, the banding issue is no longer showing. All is well.

I do want to verify a different camera use (connection).

The camera setup document mentions to NOT use a powered USB 3.0 hub.

Is that still an accurate comment?

If that is correct, how do you recommend connecting two of your USB 3.0 cameras to my computer (has 4 USB 3.0 jacks), that is about 20 feet away from the scope? Do I purchase two longer USB 3.0 cables (typical limit is 15 feet)?

Hi Fivel,

For hub, of course you can use the hub.

But you still need to pay attention to the power supply and bandwidth. And if the hub is too many, or the line is too long, there may be a situation of unstable transmission.

Chad, thank you again for your great support.

My powered USB 3.0hub is a high quality one.

I have three items connected to it:

1. ZWO guide camera (asi185mc)

2. ZWO imaging camera (asi1600mc-c)

3. Optec TCF-Si focuser via serial to USB 2.0 adapter cable.

The cable(s) connecting the hub to the Mac Mini are 18 feet long (for now), so I will be purchasing an active USB 3.0 cable.

The images will only be passed to the computer and it's external drive (1TB SSD), by that Active cable.

Hopefully that should minimize any problems transferring the images to the storage SSD.

I wwill post here how it all comes out.
