Obtaining sensor e/ADU

Several applications, as well as the FITS keyword EGAIN and the XISF Instrument Gain image property record their values in units of electrons per ADU (e/ADU). While this is often (but not always) retrievable from ASCOM drivers which provide data for the ElectronsPerADU property in the Camera class, the SDK does not provide this information. Of course this is complicated because the value is based on camera and sensor properties and capabilities.

Is it possible that future versions of the SDK could provide this information?

I am not sure what the XISF means.

But for EGAIN, we always have it in our SDK. it is called ElecPerADU in CameraInfo.

XISF is the native file format that the PixInsight team created. It is an open specification that you can read here:

In its Image Properties section one may record the gain, which the specification says is measured in e/ADU. Thanks for pointing me to the cameraInfo property, I must have missed that somehow.
