I have the exact setup as you, ASI183 and EFW. You can indeed use ASICAP for deep sky, although you wont have the same level of customisation and control as other popular options such as sequence generator pro. Don't underestimate the value of ease of use and native support, which ASICAP provides. If you are just learning the basics of deep sky imaging I would suggest sticking with ASICAP, and once you feel like your results have plateaued then maybe try something else. Features such as dithering are not supported, but again if you are just beginning it is not super important. Focus on setting a good exposure time to keep the stars nice and round, focus well, and learn how to take calibration frames. One thing you will want though is to download PHD2 if you are planning on autoguiding.
