Nexstar 6SE with Wedge

ASI178MC and ASI120MC-S

Not yet EFW

About ASIAIR Zoom Focus

From few days ago Updated latest version both IOS AP And ASIAIR Firm.

My ASIAIR's Zoom Focus is too slow refresh FPS 1 or 2 FPS only.

Before update 15-30 FPS refreshed.

I checked ASI178MC and ASO120MC-S both same.

I checked iPhone7 and iPAdAir2 both same.

Someone have same problem or someone know solution this issue?

What about your settings?:

Exp time,

BIN?

Try low exposure time and BIN 4.

Hi Ji.

expose time is 0.001

BIN is follow

ASi178MC-=>BIN4

ASI120MC-S=>BIN2

means both BINs are MAX.

I checked by ASICAP Mac Version.

It is very speedy refresh. average is about 30FPS.

This means Camera is no problem.

ASIAIR old version (Firm and AP ) had not this issue, From Current Firm and AP.

Any setting for this problem?

Like Taro san (sawasdee krub khun Taro), I too have noticed that the Fine Focus refreshes are sporadically slower with ASIAIR version 1.1 on two different iOS tabets (both iPad pros running iOS 12.2).

With a ASI183MC-Pro, the Fine Focus window would occationally run at 20 FPS but then it would suddenly slow down to 1.8 FPS, and if you wait longer, it speeds up to 20 FPS again, and then slows down again, etc.

With an ASI-174MM Mini, the sensor also switches between about 1.8 FPS and 20 FPS.

ZWO: when you are looking for the bug, please let it run in the fine focus window for a minute of two. It is not always slow, but switches between fast and slow.

Yes Chen san, My issue is same as yours.

Change slow and fast timely. but mine is 95% slow mode.

I don't know which Firm or AP (or both), but this problem is exist.

ZWO :: please find this bug and fix .

I can confirm that with the 1.2 (2.28) Beta for iOS, ASIAIR now has very fast Zoom Focus updates.

I am getting a little over 20 fps for a ASI-290MM-mini, a ASI-178MM (USB3) and a ASI-183MC-Pro. I did not try with my ASI-071MC-Pro, but I expect it to also "just work."

This should be very useful for me once the advanced version of the EAF ships.

Thank you very much for quick bug fixing. Now I need to go play with the Polar Alignment UI in 1.2 Beta :-).

Please open https://m.facebook.com.groups/ASIAIR/ in Safari on the iOS device.

Look for an announcement of Beta testing from ZWO Astronomy Cameras, and there is a link that starts with "testflight.apple.com" Click on that link.

You do not need a FaceBook account. For security reasons, I myself do not have a FaceBook account and will never have a FaceBook account.

You may also need to first install the TestFlight app from the iOS app store, if you have not used TestFlight before.

Please note that when you install and run the beta v1.2 ASIAIR app, it will download new firmware to the ASIAIR hardware (takes 1 to 2 minutes -- be sure power is not cut off to the ASIAIR hardware). One you update to new firmware, older versions of the ASIAIR app in iOS device will hang when you try to run it with the new firmware in the ASIAIR hardware.

Before you run the beta app, be sure to first make a backup copy of the older version of the SD card to your Mac -- you can use the MacOS program "ApplePi-Baker" to back up the old SD card, and also to create a new SD card if needed. Be sure to use Sumsung 32 GB SD cards only.

If you do not feel comfortable with beta testing, just wait a week or two, and I am sure ZWO will release a stable version of v1.2.

I noticed that some people are having trouble with that link (testflight.apple.com/join/6uEyoSl3) for the V1.2 beta.

Please notice that there is a period (dot) at the end of the link that ZWO posted. The period was for the sentence, and not part of the link :-) :-). If you copy the link without the period and paste it to Safari, it will work.
