174MM vs 178MM

Hi,

I am currently using the 178MM but looking to change to the 174MM with a Takahashi FC-76DCU at f/7.5 as this gives me the full disc of the moon. Would I see any benefit in changing to the 174MM compared to the 178MM ?

Should I still use a IR pass filter when imaging the moon ? If I use it for solar imaging in white light OR with a Quark would I need to use a UV/IR ?

Can I use 1.25" filters with the 174MM ?

1.174 has bigger sensor but the difference will not be too much.
