ASIair backup windows 10 error

I’ve been trying to back up my SD card for my ASIAIR with no success... Using windows 10 with win32 constantly get error message Error 1117 I have tried about every process I have found on the forum and nothing works. Some help would be appreciated thanks in advance.

Hi Randy,

Error 1117 is, I believe an indication of a "I/O device error."

Perhaps the disk utility thinks the SD card itself is corrupt, or the proram thinks the card reader that you are using is faulty.

You might try a different disk reader than the USB dongle that came with ASIAIR.

Your computer may also have a built-in card reader for a normal sized SD card, and you just need to use an adapter that comes for example, with a new Samsung micro SD card.

Also, try plugging the card reader into a different USB port, if you computer has more than one. Or, try a different computer. (For me, AppePi-Baker works like a charm on MacOS; but I do not find a Win10 version of it.)

Hi Randy,

One more thing:

if you cannot successfully back up the entire SD card into a disk image, you should at least mount the SD card and make a copy the license file from the boot partition of the SD card.

You can then download a fresh disk image (there are postings from ZWO on where to find that on the web), restore the image to a new micro SD card, and then copy the license file into the boot partition of the new SD card.

If you have a friend who has an ASIAIR, you can restore from *their* backup disk image, and copy *your* license file into the newly restored SD card.

Finally, all is never lost, even if you do not have a license file -- ZWO can make you a new license file using the processor ID that comes printed on the side of the red/white box of the ASIAIR. Every Raspberry Pi ARM chip comes with a unique processor ID; ZWO uses that to control licensing of ASIAIR -- the encrypted license file must match the processor ID when ASIAIR firmware is booting.
