Hello,
I have a CEM60 EQ iOptron mount and want to buy a ASIAIR-PRO and EAF in order to use it with my mount. I downloaded the user manual of the ASIAIR-PRO but could not find a strait answer to my question on how to connect the ASIAIR-PRO to the mount. Is there a special adapter cable available to adapt the USB output of the ASIAIR-Pro to the HC-connector on the mount? Can it be done with the USB>RS232>HC adaptor cable which is part of the accessories of the ASIAIR-PRO KIT (complete kit with the ASI120 camera, and cable set) or do I need an other special cable designed for the iOptron mount?
Kind regards
Jean
You just run a standard USB cable from the mount to the AIR. No hand control needed. You may need a RS232 to USB adapter.
I run my CEM70 this way. Works fine.
shadowangel whqt cable are you using on the CEM70...I have just bought this mount need a little help setting it up...
Hello ShadowAngel,
Thank you for your reply and proposition. My CEM60 only have a RJ12 connector (6wires) from the handcontroler to the mount. I surely need a USB>RS232 adaptor but one that is compatible with the CEM 60 mount (RJ12 - 6 wires). So does someone knows where I can find/buy such a cable?
Your CEM60 doesn't have an RS232 port? Other side of the mount from the power switch and HBX port? Are you certain?
See if this helps:

Hello shadowangel, Yes on the other side of the mount there is a RS232 input. So I just have to plug the USB/RS232 cable into that port in order to steer the mount with the ASIAIR-PRO? If so, thank you for helping me out! Kind regards Jean
jean4zwo You got it! Use any adapter you need to go from that RS232 port to a standard USB cable, then plug that into the AIR and you should be all set!
Thank shadowangel!
