astrosatch Connectivity can be lost if there is even a momentary glitch on the 12V line or the USB data line.
I have found that the worse case for the axial power connectors seems to be when the connector is pointed either straight up or straight down. I am sure it depends on the particular connector that you use.
If you have not already strain relieved your connectors that are connected to something that moves during the night, I highly recommend that you do so. For example, turn the cable near the connector 360 degrees (hairpin turn) back on itself and anchor it securely to the object that the connector is mounted on. Sometimes, just Gaffer tape will do the trick. If not, tie wraps or Velcro tapes or duct tape. You can Gaffer tape the connector itself to your mount body, for example.
The "nano tapes" work well too for this purpose, and they leave no glue residue (there are a zillions of minute suction cups on the surface of the tape :-) RTV Silicone sealant works very well, if it is a semi-permanent situation, but I have moved on to using nano tapes when I could instead of RTV.
If you have mounted the ASIAIR on the OTA (where it can move during the night), you will need to strain relieve the USB connectors and power connectors at the ASIAIR end too.
