ASI Studio 1.3 and Mac

I have been using ASI Studio 1.01 for a long time without any problems but can't make version 1.3 work on Mac. The welcome screen opens up fine but none of the buttons (e.g. for Planetary Imaging, Deep Sky Imaging etc) do anything when pressed - they don't start ASICAp, ASIIMg etc. I see the same problem on two different Mac Book Pros, one running OS 10.14.6 and another running OS 10.15.7. I have tried downloading direct from the ZWO site and also via the update link in version 1.01. All show the same result. Is anyone else having this problem?

geochron Hi, we had found the 'issue' but it may not be a bug.Did you install two versions of ASIStudio on the same Mac Book Pro? Don't install two versions, delete the old version then install the new version.In other words, click the replace button rather than the keep-both button when you update it.If the 'issue' still exists, please reply to us.Thanks!

that was certainly the case on the first laptop running the older system but the second laptop is brand new and has no previous ASI software installed - it shows the same issue when I download ASI Studio directly from the ZWO website. In fact it currently has very little other software on there just the usual Word, Excel, Photoshop etc. so hard to see what other conflicts there might be.

Does it work if you run ASICap directly?You can try this method, ASICap.app is in the
path named "Applications/ASIStudio.app/Contents/MacOS",find it and double click.Tell us the result whether success or fail.If this method works, use it by this way temporarily.We are looking forward to your feedback.Thanks a lot.

on both my laptops ASI Studio app just appears to be a single file rather than a folder containing other components (see enclosed screenshot). Maybe the installer has not installed everything required?

OK - I just realised that I copied the app from my old laptop to the new one and not the installer... I have downloaded the installer now and it works on my 'clean' laptop! So the problem is likely, as you thought, that I had a pre-existing version of ASI Studio installed and this conflicts with the installation. Sorry for the drama:
