That would be a good addition. You could da a plate solve of each image in the background and recenter the scope to the initial coordinates if they are too far off. This would not need any user interaction or special planning, keeping the use of ASIAir as easy as it currently is.

I would also vote for this feature. If I am running without auto-guiding (just trusting on the tracking of my mount) then over time the center of the target will drift of course. It would be ideal if this were part of the auto-run sequence. I could do an auto-run of X subs. Then re-center on the target. Then do another auto-run of Y subs etc

I would like this feature when doing meridian flips. My target is always off center.

I'm dithering btw.

Has anyone seen this feature in asiair before? I just discovered it and it centers the object very precisely.

When I am not connected to a mount I would like to shut off this. How can I do that??

Dear @ASIAIR@ZWO#45332, could you please let us know if this issue is on your "TO DO"-list? It is really a hassle if clouds pass through and one looses the rest of the imaging session as the scope drifted off. Background platesolving of finished images and regular re-centering should be quite easy to achieve.

@ASIAIR@ZWO#45332 Any word of hope for this feature? It has been an issue for many and you can make life of your users little easier.

PMTeam@ZWO This feature could be rolled in to auto focus routines during a plan, period checking would be better though. NINA does this with Re-Center After Drift and it works great.

Any word on it yet? I don't think I can buy an air without one. With the clouds we get here I don't want limited imaging time ruined!

I had this again with clouds last and had to throw out 2 hours of data because target was off center

Would I ended up doing is breaking down my plan into multiple targets of the same target. Have it re-center about after a X amount of subs. Really not the best way to go about it. But it works. Until they add something that what I'm doing. Hopefully that change sooner rather than later.

Eriktim82 this is a good work-around until a ‘recenter after drift’ feature is added. Thanks for sharing.

      +1
Clouds passing by can ruin a night session, this is a pity that it has not been implemented yet!

Everytime I think about a missing feeture in asiair, I can see that it has already been requested and is not implemented... I am really starting to think that I should go for another system than asiair!

PMTeam@ZWO this feature is crucial for prolonged sessions, and still missing. You said you take this into account 4 years ago

I think that asiair is a great product that can be enhanced with this key feature!!!! ... I also have to create several session with the same target but if happens that there is a cloud when a new session starts my whole session ends and another night wasted ... PLEASE add this feature!!!
