Is 'sensor shock' a real concern

My APT system tutorials indicate that once the camera is cooled and you are done taking shots, that before turning off the program and shutting everything down, you should use the camera warming function to avoid 'Sensor Shock'.
Is Sensor Shock a real concern and can I damage my camera sensor by not warming it back up before turning off power?

Damage camera sensor is a little exaggerated but it is worth of attention.

So what does ZWO recommend?
When finished imaging, is it good practice to warm the sensor or is this unnecessary?

We don't have this statement, since you are using APT which told you to do so, you'd better follow.

I do not use APT either; I use ASIStudio. I understand your response to say that since sensor warming is not included in ASIStudio sensor warming may be safely ignored.
