Incorrect Hemisphere ASIAIR PRO, manual hemisphere toggle needed.

w7ay Thanks for the reply. Everything looks just fine, until I give a GoTo command. Then my Longitute switches to E instead of west. I filed a report with ZWO 6+ weeks ago, but haven't heard anything as yet. 🙁

Based on ZWO's past history, it will be like waiting for Godot.

When I have free time one of these days, I will check with my mount simulator to see what ASIAIR sends to the mount together with the GOTO command.

By the way, I checked with muy mount simulator (since I do not have a SynScan mount), and do not find any payload in the GOTO command from ASIAIR, other than a command to GOTO (which does not invove sending hemisphere information). So I am at a loss of why you hemisphere changes right after a GOTO command.

Most mounts do not have a checksum in the commands, and it is possible that a command was corrupted. However, such a thing should not be reproducible/repeatable.

w7ay Hi w7ay, I am having the same issue as the OP. My CGX mount switches from EQ-South to EQ-North tracking whenever I command the ASIAIR Plus to start a plan, autorun, or when it changes panes as part of a plan. Unless I sit next to the scope all night and change the tracking back to EQ-South on the hand controller, then autoguiding is practically useless for me. I checked all my lat/long information as per your guidance, no issues across the board.

If the latest ASIAIR app/firmware still won't work, I recommend that you move on. There are many other solutions for Raspberry Pi and ebven more if you want to use a laptop.

I am myself currently working on switching my All-Sky camera from ASIAIR to a custom program I am writing that uses INDIGO Sky (a Raspberry Pi 4 that runs as an INDIGO server).

Is it possible then that the CGX mount thinks its in the Northern Hemisphere because it hasn't gone through a proper alignment? I perform a quick align, rather than a one/two star alignment, despite setting up the ASIAIR Plus with the correct coordinates, perhaps the CGX needs to be independently aligned with more rigour?

When the ASIAIR sends the time and location to the mount, it sends the wrong sign.

However, that is done only once, when the ASIAIR first connects to the mount, as long as you never Sync to the mount.

So, you can connect the ASIAIR to the mount (at which point it sends the wrong coordinate), then with the mount's hand controller, revert the hemisphere to the correct one, and go from there.

There is also Beta version (Beta for some two years now) of the mount driver in ASIAIR that does send time and location information to the mount. You can select that version, as long as you enter the correct time and location manually with the mount's hand controller.

Are you using the "beta" version. That version does not push any time/location to the mount even when you ask it to.

As long as the hemisphere is correct, you should be able to continue using ASIAIR (until you hit another bug).

w7ay No I'm using whatever the latest standard version is. I still have the issue of the mount corrections being in the wrong hemisphere, so the problem is ongoing, despite the ASIAIR pushing the correct coordinates through. I've engaged Celestron for support.

rueffy Hi Please confirm to disable the GPS on your mount. Moreover, could you take a screenshot to show us the mount info and phone info in the Mount settings in the ASIAIR app? and also check if it agrees with your location.
If possible, you can upload the log in the ASIAIR app after the problem occurs(About ->feedback)

Hi, thank you for your response, my CGX has no GPS therefore it is disabled by default and cannot be enabled, I've checked the setting. The location on the CGX hand controller agrees with what's in the ASIAIR app. The requested screenshots are below and logs attached.
