Hi, I have ASI533 with filter drawer. Recently I added OAG to the setup and now access to the drawer locking screw is blocked by OAG. Am I doing something wrong or is it a design issue?
apolkowski Am I doing something wrong or is it a design issue?
From what I've read elsewhere the locking screw is only used to adjust the tension on the filter holder, so it will slid in and be held firmly. No something that needs to be adjusted frequently.
Do you find that you need to adjust locking screw often?
Steve.
It’s a design problem. ZWO should thread their accessories so that when a ZWO camera (or other accessory like EFW or OAG) is threaded on to them they end up in a predetermined orientation when tightened ie at 12 o’clock, 3 o’clock, 6’ o’clock, 9 o’clock. Instead they provide some spacer shims to add between the camera and the accessory or between accessories in order to move their final orientation around.
Hi guys, Can you attach some related photos here? If it is truly a design issue, I will convey this to our R&D department.
Here are the photos.
apolkowski This screw goes too far, please loose it and make sure it is on the same level with the surface(or just little deeper).
@tech@zwo#47940 OK. I will ask my question again to be well uderstood. How can I loose or tighten this screw when OAG is attached? This was my issue. The access to this screw is blocked when OAG is installed..
apolkowski What about OAG unattached? Under no circumstances this screw should go this far. Or if OAG is unattached, is there another issue? Can you provide photos and elaborate more? Thanks!
Well, my understanding was that I should block the drawer to prevent accidental falling etc, Now I see, that the screw is used to pre-load the spring and then I do not need to touch it, It is clear now. Thanks.
How to use the locking screw is not clearly defined. Poor documentation is the cause of many problems with ZWO products.
StevenEvan You have a point!
My locking screw fell out. Any idea what size it is?
mjmonson M42 or M54 version?
