I connected the ZWO EAF with bracket for Celestron C11-14 to my Meade 8 inch ACF tube with round knob successfully. It's needed minimal modification. It's taken about 20 min.
Leonid Nice job!
Sounds great, would definitely fulfill my needs. What exactly had to be done? Could you please describe? Thx
I sawed off this part with a rasp. I had cogs of the right caliber, the zwo does not ship with the focuser. Everything took about 20 minutes
Leonid Did the connector that came with the bracket fit over the focuser shaft once you took off the original focusing knob?
thanks for sharing this info, I think I'll give it a try. Using a Crawford focuser in the meantime to which I attach EAF, but that means approx. 1kg extra weight
I can't compare it. I haven't used Crawford on this tube. Thx. :-)
Johnny After I purchased the coupler for the C11-C14 to fit the Meade LX90 12inch, I noticed that it was way too big for the focusing shaft. The smaller coupler is 12.8 mm which is approximately the size of the shaft.
I have an older Meade LX50 8inch SCT. Is the C-11-14 the correct model for the EAF or is the C8?
Nice job modifying the mount.
abaylus once you take the knob off the focuser, if the diameter of the shaft that the knob sits on is significantly larger than 12.8 mm then get the C11-C14.
Johnny I measured it as 0.5 inch which is 12.7 mm - so the C8 - would you expect this to be a clean install or would you think that I may need to cut some of the plate off like Leonid posted on Sep 28, 2021.
Thank you
I have the problem with the Meade ACF 12" LX850. I bought a ZWO EAF adapter for Celestron C11-C14, but the part with screws hasn't the appropiate size for my Meade, they need more separation.
