SteveInColorado The app is saving a half size image on the iPad. 533MC Pro fit becomes 1500x1500 jpeg. Can I get the full size jpeg on my iPad?
Save from where? The preview window?
From Autorun, images are saved as full sized FITS format to the Udisk or microSD card, together with a pretty useless JPEG thumbnail (tiny image only good as a file icon).
From Preview window, a "save" using the button at the lower right hand side of the window will save to a JPEG file that is half of the sensor size (for both color and monochrome cameras) to your Photos album.
A screen capture of the preview screen (after tapping the window to only show the image) will save the image as a 16 bit deep PNG image that is scaled to the native resolution of your iPad display.
Keep in mind that the Preview images are not the original raw image but has undergone some rudimentary stretching, crude deBayering and color correction, and scaling (that contains Moiré).
The Preview window is just that, for a quick rough look at the sky. It is not for use to seriously capture images.
If you want a real full sized, full depth image from the sensor, I recommend using Autorun to capture an image to a FITS file.
If you don't have a better FITS reader, you can use the ASIFITSView in the ASIStudio suite.
On macOS, a FITS image in the ASIFITSView has a contextual menu, and you can do a "Save As" from the conextual menu into PNG, TIFF or JPEG. However, ASIFITSView will again only save the image as an 8-bit deep (per component) TIFF or PNG image, so you may want to use some real FITS viewer to convert to full depth PNG.
Again, the stretching, deBayering, etc from ASIFITSView is pretty rudimentary.
