EAF position log for taking flats

Please include a log for the focus positions during an autorun or plan sequence so that when I take my flats in the morning I know where to adjust the EAF so my flats match focus of my lights.

I'm not sure why this issue hasn't gotten much attention. Flats need to be focused precisely the same as the corresponding lights or else the flats won't work properly.

If I execute an autorun sequence, and the ASIair has the EAF focus numerous times throughout the night, the focus point will likely not be the same all night. Especially among all the filters in a mono setup.

I would like a record of the EAF positions throughout the night so that I can return the focuser to those positions in the morning when taking my flats.

GooE this might not be the answer you expect, but there is another thread about the same topic (see https://bbs.astronomy-imaging-camera.com/d/12238-record-current-autofocus-value-in-fits-headers/4 ) – it asks for recording the EAF position into the FITS header. I don’t know if it has been implemented yet but it makes sense, since the focus position might change even in a „single filter“ sequence of images (if temperature drops by certain degrees, after every hour, …). Also, i would expect to find the positions in the autorun log, for when ASIAir Pro issued the autofocus sequence. Hth.
