Why do I get stars that look like moths flying away from the Ring Nebula? Camera: ASI462 Scope: 8-inch Mead LX90 go-to Attachments: 6.3 Mead focal reducer attached to visual back; two .5x focal reducers in series on the camera. Camera installed on diagonal. Any input is appreciated!
Odosia moths flying away from the Ring Nebula
Your camera is way, way too close to the reducer.
Check the specs of the reducer to find what the back focus it is designed for.
Then place your camera sensor at that distance from the reducer.

You have additional two 0.5x reducers in train. This combo isn't made for imaging. You can never get good stars this way. Use only 6.3 reducer.

Thank you both for those comments. Will try that out this weekend!
