vrnazo I would like to replace the 1.25" nosepieces on my ZWO 174mm and 1600mm cameras with 2" nosepieces.
Notice that the flange of the ASI1600 and the pancake version of the ASI174 have a diameter of 2". However, they are only about 10mm long. (That black 11mm ring on the ASI1600.)
You can make that flange into a longer nosepiece by attaching M48 extension tubes (almost all have a 2" outer diameter).
Your ASI1600 could have come with a ZWO 16.5mm extension tube. That has a male M42 thread, which goes into the camera flange, and a female M48 thread at the other end, where you can add more M48 tubes, if you want a longer nosepiece.
Often, ZWO cameras also come with a 21mm extension with M42 thread, but with a fat 2" outer diameter. Check your ASI1600 box.
The 21mm long fat M42, together with the 16.5mm M42-M48 adapter plus the existing 11mm flange should give you a 2" nosepiece that is 48.5mm long. If that is still insufficient, just add extra M48 tubes.
