JT50 The maniual focus control does not move the focuser unless the "Reverse" slider is set on in EAF settings.
Jim, there are three parameters that are important on the ZWO EAF.
One is the Current EAF stepper motor count, one is the minimum stepper motor count, and one is the maximum stepper motor count.
Each revolution of the stepper motor in the EAF has 5760 steps.
You cannot move the Current position beyond the bounds set by the minimum and maximum positions, an absolute maximum of a little greater than 11 revolutions of the EAF shaft if maximum is set to 65535.
The minimum is always set to zero (negative counts not allowed -- one of the limitations of the EAF firmware). The maximum is user settable and limited to 65535 (unsigned 16 bit integer), which is another limitations set by the firmware -- other electronic focusers have much larger limits).
If you hit the larger limit, you can increase the Maximum value, up to 65535.
If the maximum is already the 65535 number, the only way to further rotate the EAF shaft is to edit the Current value by making it smaller. For example, if you edit the current value to 30000, you will have another six rotations of the EAF shaft. You can set it to 0 to get maximum travel. Rinse and Repeat to keep going in that direction, until your draw tube runs out of travel.
If you have reached the lower limit of 0, you do the same thing, but in reverse. I.e., edit the Current value to some large number (up to 65535). Rinse and Repeat again until the draw tube has run out of travel in that direction.
If the soft limits in the EAF is not the problem, check your mechanical focuser to see if there is any snags, of if the flexible coupler is way out of being axial. Make sure any focuser lock remains unlocked.
