yf222000 Anyone of you here experienced AIR Pro crashes after installing the newer 5V EAF thing?
The Raspberry Pi 4 is spec'ed to supply a maximum of 1.2A total from its USB ports.
I just measured one of my 5V EAFs and when slewing, the EAF is drawing a short term average of 0.24A (I did not put a recording ampmeter on it to measure instantaneous current spikes, but it is probably over 0.25A if ZWO did not use a large enough filter capacitor). I simply use a cheap USB power meter that I got at Amazon.
When quiescent, it draws less than 0.05A.
What is the cumulative current draw from your other devices? If the total is over 1.2A, you will need a powered USB hub (but make sure you use a powered hub that does not back-power the Raspberry Pi -- most of the powered hubs will back-power the USB port of the Raspberry Pi and cause random problems, or even cause the Raspberry Pi not to boot).
I run my USB devices off of a powered hub and have not encountered any EAF problem (I have three of the 5V version, and a couple of the 12V version still in use).
