Just a reminder of what the sensitivity graph looks like that I'm referring to.
Offset and colour gain iissues with 485MC
No comments or suggestions?
Any comments, anyone?
I guess I just have to wait to see if a new driver quietly appears and has any effect. I'm also getting lots of capture failures in high speed mode at full resolution, and am unable to get frame rates above 130fps even with a small ROI. I have no such issues with my ASI 462MC.

Hello,
Do you mean ASCOM Driver? What software are you using? Have you tried with another software such as ASIStudio? Is it same behavior? Then we can find out this is just software related or camera issue.

Thanks for response. The only driver I'm using is the usb driver on windows 10 with firecapture. I have tried with ASIcap and get exactly the same colour balance, and offset issue. Maybe a firmware issue?

did you use an IR cut filter ?
Alain
I will try, but I've never captured with ASCOM before as it is severely limiting.
I have tried now with ASCOM driver and get exactly the same behaviour.

According to this, if this is also the same bahavior in ASIStudio, this camera may have some issues. Please follow the attached guide to catch the SDK log and send us to analyze.
Please make sure to test it with different cables, ports, computers.
I have the same issue with my asi485mc.
When I set high gain, the image turns completely white. It is a big issue.
I made tests with many capture softwares. I have the same issues using my own software and ZWO SDK.
I changed the usb cable and I also have those issues.
I think asi485mc have some problems and I think ZWO must fix those problems. No need to ask me to make some new tests, the issues are real.
I hope ZWO will give us some answers and good news !
Many thx in advance.
Alain
Hello guys
we know this problem and we will try to figure out a better way to fix
thank you
Hello Sam,
many thanks for the news. I know you will do your best to fix those issues.
Despite those small issues, the camera looks really great.
I still regret you won't try to make an adapter for Fuji X mount lens. I know the back focus is very very short and an adapter would probably be a bit expensive and hard to make but a 50mm f0.95 would have been really terrific with the ASI485MC.
I do work on live video of deep sky with ZWO cameras. Take a look here : https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/t/electronically-assisted-astronomy-with-a-jetson-nano/76861
If you want to give a try to a Fuji X mount adapter, i am ok for testing (i will buy a 7Artisans 35mm or 50mm F0.95 lens).
Just tell me.
Have a nice day.
Alain
Torsten provided a replacement DLL from ZWO on his firecapture mailing list that is said to fix the offset problem. I plugged it in and tested my camera and it does indeed fix the offset problem and the bright background when above unity gain. Thanks for attending to this.
I also tested the new ASICamera2.dll and it fixes the issues. Good job.
We need now the good SDK version and the SDK for Linux.
Happy new year to everyone !
Alain
