Low noise camera - ZWO ASI482 with C-mount lens

Hi everyone,

I am looking for a low noise camera with USB3 for filming a phosphorizing exposure screen of a scientific experiment. I came across the ZWO ASI482 USB3.0 Color CMOS camera.

But I would like to continue using my existing C-mount lens - Fujinon CF16HA-1 1":

Can you tell me how to get the C-mount lens to the ASI482? Because I don't see any thread on the camera.

Or can you recommend me another camera?

Just use a C-mount to T2 adapter?

There are many out there. ScopeStuff has them and Baader has them:

Be sure to check the flange distance for C-mount vs CS-mount. With CS-mount lenses, you need an extra 5mm spacer (check ScopeStuff page, for example).

If you have other cameras, check the content of the boxes. They are quite common. In fact, ZWO includes a C-T2 adapter with their planetary cameras which include that cheap low-quality fish eye lens.

You need to be careful with the ZWO adapters. On some of them, the two extraction holes are drilled through, and will leak light unless you tape out the holes. Some other T2-C adapters from ZWO have countersunk holes (at 90 degrees from one another on each side) that do not go all the way through. I don't think ZWO has publicly addressed the problem, or mentioned if the current version is the fixed version.

Now I have another question. Is there a possibility to mount the ASI482 like the cooled one with a ring holder, e.g., https://astronomy-imaging-camera.com/product/new-holder-ring-for-asi-cooled-cameras78mm-diameters ,? I need to mount the ASI482 horizontally for my experiment.
