I am curious...
1) was the first time it happened also in winter?
2) do you recall how low a temperature did you cool the camera to when the paste separated this time? (Perhaps check the FITS headers.)
3) Did the leak appear in your sub frames during the course of the night, or did they only appear on the sensor after you brought the camera back and stored indoors?
There is a conjecture on Cloudy Nights that the cheap paste separates when it is first brought to low temperatures and then allowed to warm up.
