Station Mode will not scan for networks

I have the ASIAir Plus. When I enable Station Mode, my tablet immediately disconnects from the plus' local network. It doesn't show any WIFI networks for Station Mode to connect to. The tablet reconnects to the network but will not connect to the Plus. Only way I've been able to get reconnected is to press the reset button and then I'm able to connect.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

I just received my ASIAIR plus today as a Xmas gift. I have had the ASIAIR pro for quite a while and have pretty.much figured out how to use all the features and the bugs. You need to be set for 2.4ghz network before you enable station mode. I have my iPad connected directly to the ASIAIR plus host WiFi first. Enable 2.4 ghz WiFi and then enable station mode. My ASIAIR plus scans and then shows the 2.4ghs networks it can connect to. Select the one you want it then prompts for the password. It connects just fine to my home WiFi.

Even though you have to initially set up Station Mode with the ASIAIR switched to the 2.4 GHz band, routers that are capable of Band Steering (like the eero mesh router that I use) are able to eventually steer the ASIAIR to switch over to use the 5 GHz band.

My All Sky Camera uses an old original ASIAIR (Raspberry Pi 3 version). The camera is currently on my home network in station mode, using the 5 GHz band (confirmed on both ASIAIR's WiFi settings window, and in my router's table).

I've tried it in 2.4 and 5GHz but still no luck. I decided to try and use a small travel router and connect to the ASIAir Plus ethernet port. After connecting, I can see that my router has assigned it an IP address but for whatever reason, I still cannot get the app to connect using that IP address. I can ping the IP from my tablet (same one the app is installed on) with no problem so I know it is connected. Makes me think there might be a bug on the Android version of the app when trying to use it in Station Mode or Ethernet. I will have to find a iPad or iPhone to test that theory. Also, after having no luck getting it to connect, I decide to go back to using the local WIFI the ASIAIR generates but the app will still not connect even though my tablet connects to the wifi with no problem. The only way to get it work again is the reset the wifi on the ASIAIR and start over.

Did you give permission in Android to allow the ASIAIR app to access the local network?

It is an easy thing to do with iOS (in the iOS settings for iOS). There should be something equivalent in Android.

If not, try removing the ASIAIR app completely from your tablet. Then reinstall it from the App Store. When you run the new app for the first time, ASIAIR begins with some windows asking for permissions. This time, give ASIAIR full permission to access you network, and also your files (for images).

Yes. I gave it full permissions. I tried deleting the app cache and data in the device app settings. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. No matter what I tried, I still had the same results.

My friend has an iPad and we installed the app on it and everything works flawlessly, including station mode and also using the ethernet connection. It definitely seems like there's an issue with Android and these functions. Maybe something Android changed on the latest update. I'm using Android 11 on my Galaxy Tab S7 and also on a Galaxy S9 phone.

I just downloaded the beta 1.8.2 and had the same problem.
