help with focal reducer, please.

I just received a zwo asi224, I have a celestron C8 w/ 2032 focal length. Would a 6,3 reducer be enough to bring the moon or sun into full view instead of too high a magnification I'm getting now? Does anyone know the focal mm of this particular camera?

skyking840 Cameras don't have focal lengths. Telescopes and lenses do.

skyking840 you can use https://astronomy.tools/calculators/field_of_view/ to calculate your field of view. Please note to choose Imaging Mode so you can choose the appropriate camera. Good luck.

What you need is to put the specs of your scope (aperture diameter and focal length) and camera (sensor size in mm or resolution and pixel size) into a planetarium program such as stellarium (freeware) to see what your field of view would be. I just did it quickly with your scope and camera and got about 8 arcminutes by 6 arcminutes. With the focal reducer, it is about 13 minutes by 10 minutes. The moon's apparent diameter is about 30 arcminutes. Your FOV is not nearly large enough for the moon.

To shoot the full moon with C8 you should roughly need the reducer and APSC sensor
please check it with a planetarium program as suggested
