My vote too for rotator support, third party rotator of new ZWO Rotator.
Rotator support
Thanks for your support. I forwarded to our team. they will consider this in the future.
If ZWO were to develop a rotator compatible with ASIAIR it would fly off the shelves.
Easy as 1 2 3!

I echo what everybody said here. It'd be fantastic for zwo to develop a zwo field rotator with de-rotation support for alt-az mount or support 3rd party rotators (e.g. Pegasus) in asiair.
Thank you
any info on specs, pricing or release date?

Thanks
Absolutely agree, you need a field rotator. Otherwise we could proceed with a virtual rotator as developed in N.I.N.A. . It is unthinkable to do astrophotography without this function!
I'm waiting for the automatic ZWO rotator like a holiday
Thank you for your feedback, i conveyed to our team.
Dear technical team,
I’m currently planning on buying the whole suit from ZWO (ASIAIR, Planetary cam and ASI249 PRO). However, the only thing that is holding me back is the fact that I own a Celestron with alt-az mount and there is no field rotator that works with ASIAIR… I really don’t want to change telescope and I would really like to use your product ecosystem.
It is not difficult tu build a self-made field rotator but the coordinate of the celestial body that is currently observed are absolutely needed to make it work. If you could just add a telemetry output from ASIAIR’s USB with literally only two data (current object elevation and azimuth) it would be possible to make it work without relying on other libraries or other softwares and making the experience seamless.
ASIAIR can already save images in an external memory, so it’s also possible to save a .txt file with the coordinates of the object (which you already have available because they’re used in the star chart and for pointing the telescope) and overwrite it once every 10-15s to keep the coordinate updated as the object moves. Please consider doing that and I’ll run to the store ;-)
Is there any news on the release date of the rotator?

Almost 3 years ago this forum started, requesting that you include in the ASI Air software a field rotation controller and, to provide the complete robotization service, a flat panel controller too, to be able to make flats and darks. In 2 years ZWO has not given a response, does not listen to its clients and does not want to position itself as a market leader by responding to the logical requests of its clients. I have my observatory in a city with Bortle 9 sky and tired of this polluted sky I am going to send a telescope to a telescope hosting in Bortle 1 sky , but I will not be able to control it with ASI Air, since it does not have rotation control field or automatic calibration frames. After 4 years with ZWO you force me to switch to NINA, buy a mini PC and throw away everything I learned.
A regrettable decision ZWO, you are going to lose many customers, starting with me.
I totally agree with you Leo39. A rotator would be the most wanted item by ZWO as it would enhance the functionality essentially.
Dear ZWO, if you want customers to stick to your brand you have to listen to your customers needs. I guess, that most manpower goes into the development of the Seestar branch and not to the other customers.
I also asked in a different thread for the support of connecting two ASIAIR together that they can synchronize during dithering. Also this request seems not to be heard by ZWO.
https://bbs.zwoastro.com/d/17693-synchronization-of-2-asiair-devices-dithering
I hope you will either provide a rotator and the above requested soon to your base of customers or at least allow items of other manufacturers to be connected to ASIAIR. Otherwise there's no other solution as to switch to a mini pc, nina and so on.
I hope you will consider this carefully.
Best regards
AstroBavaria
CAA is on the to-do list and will be released this year.
For the dithering sync between two ASIAIR Plus, actually we have considered this, due to its complexity and also need to compatible with exsiting feature, may not be determined soon.
Tech@ZWO I distinctly remember hearing the the same last year regarding the rotator(Actually, I don't think it was even "this year", it was "expected to release in second half of 2023"). And, likewise in early 2022, when I suggested third party rotator support to your customer service - they came back to inform me that you expect to have something on the market by the end of the year.
So excuse me for not holding my breath about the rotator coming this year.
You can't even implement DST support into asiair software despite years of requests, forcing me and thousands of others to mess with my phone's time settings every time I want to image(and then, not forget to reset it back how it's supposed to be after the imaging session, to avoid silly stuff like coming in to work at the wrong hour - been there, done that.). I get that China doesn't use DST, but most of the world and thus, your customers - does.
You should really just enable generic rotator support(It's all just ASCOM after all) instead of insisting that the ZWO branded rotator is coming soon, "for real this time" for literal years and keeping us hanging. We WANT to give you money, and we understand you want to maximize profits by keeping a tight, self-contained ecosystem of exclusivity. But if you don't actually offer a viable alternative, consider allowing third party support.
It's only fair.
PeteJ Sorry for the delay, and thank you very much for your feedback.
This decision was not made lightly, and it stems from our commitment to delivering the highest quality product possible. We understand that this delay may cause inconvenience, and for that, we sincerely apologize. We are taking every possible measure to ensure that when CAA does become available, it meets your expectations and our standards of excellence. We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.
For DST problem, no need to change the time in your phone settings, just keep the DST setting is off in your mount settings.

2024 and half and still waiting for a rotator , i have three setup with ASIR AIR PRO plus, included, EAF's, EFW's, and more
now have to say sorry is time to moving to NINA and say goodbye . enough time waiting for rotator, dome control ,flat panel
CS, Brian
In all honesty, the lack of a camera rotator before next summer will make me jump to N.I.N.A.
I’m sure ZWO is aware of the implications of that move…
