Hi everyone
I ask you for help with this problem since I have not found anyone with this same problem on the internet.
Trying to use the Live function of the Asi Air app (I use an Asi Air Plus) including the Dark and Bias frames taken just before, I have this error.
"The dimension of the dark and light frame does not match".

Even trying to include only the bias, same problem.

"The dimension of the bias and light frame does not match".

Has anyone ever had this problem?

My equipment is:
Skywatcher AZ GTI MAK 102
ASI 224mc

AstroMaio Are you binning the lights and, if yes, did you bin the dark and bias frames as well?

wvreeven Sorry but I'm a beginner, I didn't understand the question, what do you mean by binning?

        wvreeven OK, thanks a lot!
The thing that I do not explain is that I took the darks and the bias frames directly from the app like so many astrophotographers I have seen on youtube.
Taking the frames from the app from what I've seen, it automatically stacks the frames (20 for Darks and 50 for Biases).
I can't understand the error, the shutter speed is the same as that of the Dark frames. Unless there is a bug in the app I don't explain the error that is returned to me

I take the calibration frames following the rules:
For Darks = same exposure time as lights and same gain.
For Bias = the shortest exposure time allowed by the camera and the same gain.
The only thing that changes now that I think about it is the temperature, between dark and light there are also 2 degrees of difference, could this be the problem?
And if so, how can I avoid it?

AstroMaio The temperature difference will not be the cause of the error that you got. A temperature difference will only mean (very slightly) different noise levels in the dark and bias frames w.r.t. the lights. The popups you get indicate that the width and height (in pixels) of the dark and bias frames differ w.r.t. the width and height of the lights. I have no idea how that can happen so, sorry, I cannot help you with this.

I think this error message is spurious. I got it often after I changed the gain/ISO in the camera tab alhough I do have and choose calibration frames taken in the same ISO/gain as the new ISO/gain. As others say, the message is about the dimension (width and height) so ISO/gain should not matter anyway.

My work around is to switch to Preview mode and take one shot and plate solve it before coming back to Live View to start the live stack. Then, the message goes away.

Hello. Please check whether the resolution of the dark frame you are using (available in Image Management) is consistent with the resolution of the main camera you are using. The resolutions of the two must be consistent, so that Dark Frame can be used normally

AstroMaio looks like its been a couple of years since this post however, I do believe I solved this. Make sure all your darks/bias/flats are created in the same bin(s) to preserve resolution size. Hope this help, cheers!
