I was reading and it seems like they promised that they would have support for Sony Mirrorless DSLR cameras. They were stating that they would have it in the second half of 2021 and then nothing.

I can make the assumption that they could not get the system to work with the Sony architecture (Sony seems to keep a closed fist around their property).

Are there any updates or is my logical guess correct?

Just bought the ASIAIR Plus, firmware updated and connected to my Sony a7R IV via USB setting PC Remote mode. Unfortunately the ASIAIR does not recognize the camera. I was expecting it to work with major cameras like Sony…

Any chance to get it working? Thanks!

Unfortunately it looks like a dead end with Sony.

I am looking for a used Nikon D810a -Astro modded full frame camera which is ASIAIR compatible.

I can’t blame ZWO for this as I am certain that Sony is keeping their intellectual property closed like Apple does. Sony removed features from their own software between the A7 2 series and 3 series. I would like the ability to use their app and set up something greater then a 30 second exposure for example. I have an intravelometer but it would be nice to have it natively on the phone app (say 30 sec, 1 minute, 2 and 5 minutes with repeating functions).

Too bad. Can’t afford a new camera since I’ve just got the a7R IV and I really expected it to work with the ASIAIR Plus since it has a USB PC Mode.

Hope ZWO releases support soon, it’s been a couple of years they’re writing in threads that they’re working on it.

    Thanks for the reply!

    Any updates on this?

This is great news! I am trying to make my ASIAIR PRO recognize my Sony A7 IV, but it doesn't show up under main camera.. or guide camera for that matter. What is the procedure for this? Appreciate any help 🙂

oh... the 2.1 is not out yet..? When will it be released. That's a game changer for us Sony people 🙂

This is excellent. I still think you should offer the dslr shutter port to be selected as the main camera control output for control of external shutter driven cameras. As odd as it sounds we could even use film cameras with asi air in this manner.

This is great news I just spent 2k+ in equipment, my wife would killed me if she knew I purchased all this for my camera not to be compatible... O_o. When is the 2.1 coming out?

Really keen to know when 2.1 will be coming out. My ASIAIR Plus arrives this week after a long wait. Looking forward to getting it hooked up to my A7RV.

    Woah! Amazing news!

I've long been contemplating a major ZWO purchase (AM5, ASIAir, guide camera, etc.) but the lack of support for my Sony A7iii has been the (only) thing holding me back. As a relative AP neophyte (currently using nothing more than a star tracker), I really want to take "baby steps" before jumping in even deeper with the rest of the ZWO ecosystem (eventually planning for a mono camera, filter wheel, auto-focuser).

I'll continue watching here for an update on the timing of 2.1 ... and free up some room on my credit card!

    Will support A7C and A1?
    Thx

Don't forget to get Canon R6 Mark II in 2.1! I worked with the libgphoto2 dev and he added it to the Master.
