Hi,
Why is the "minimum movement" (minmo) setting for guiding is locked on the ASIAIR ?
According to PHD2 user guide,
"Of all the detailed guiding parameters discussed here, the two min-move values are the most likely to warrant adjustment on a nightly basis depending on seeing conditions."
It turns out that guiding with ASIAIR is sub-optimal with many setups, including mine, because the AD and DEC minmo values are locked to 0.1.
This value is way too small if one guides an EQ6-like mount with an OAG as I do. Other mounts like Avalon need values smaller than 0.1.
According to this thread AISAIR minmo was 0.2 in 2021 (incidentally, my guiding was better last year than today) and the value was changed to the current 0.1 by some firmware update during the previous year.
It would be a huge benefit for many ASIAIR users to add a "Advanced settings" menu with some extra guiding parameters, first and foremost minmo. Or the ability to run the guiding assistant.
I tried to change it by hand in the file "ASIAIR_guider.xml" but unfortunately it is overwritten by the system at boot.
I really like using the ASIAIR and the whole ecosystem, but I'd forced to leave it if no solution is offered to this problem.
asiair@zwo, could you do something ?
