Does anyone know if the ASIAir Plus will be able to connect and control the new Star Adventure GTI mount via EQ mod cable?

I would say probably it would but don't take my word for it. I have an az gti in EQ mode with an asiair pro and runs on eq mod mount in my AAP with an EQ dir cable. So the SA GTI isn't much of a different mount in respect to my az gti in EQ mode.

Yes, it is able to connect but at the moment, there are problems with guiding with ASIAIR. I first thought it is a problem in the mount firmware, but apparently, it is in ASIAIR, see https://www.facebook.com/groups/StarAdventurer/posts/3383039848644321/?comment_id=3386647971616842&reply_comment_id=3386724864942486 I experienced the same problems. I tried 3 nights to get it running, even making a EQmod adapter instead of using the USB connector, I hope ZWO will find this thread. It would be good to get it in the upcoming 2.0 release...

@ASIAIR@ZWO#59627 Yeah, switching to "EQmod mount" instead of "EQmod with SkySafari" in the mount selection did help! It works now as expected! Thanks! Keep rocking, guys!

If I connect as per the video, guiding will work as expected? I'm waiting for my ASIAir Plus and setting initial expectations.

tbhausen It depends what you expect :-) The guiding will be not as with EQ6-R Pro for example, whereas this mount costs almost 3 times more. The Star Adventure GTI is a very good mount for its price and for smaller gear, something like RedCat 51 or similar, 3-4kg max. I would not rely much that the spec says it can carry 5kg. Yes, it will not "fall apart" :-) but the guiding will be not good. I'm getting 0.7-0.9" RMS with RedCat 51, cooled mono camera, EFW, EAF, guide scope, 3.3 kg in total.

vladi I'll be guiding a Tak FS-60c with a 30F4 and ASI120MM Mini... should be OK.

vladi To resurrect an old thread if someone stumbles on it as I did: GTi tracking is every bit as good as my EQ6R. And guiding managed by an ASIair Mini is actually better (which I presume has something to do with balance).
