gbellman If I wiggle the (not provided with purchase) power cable, I can make it lose or recover power. I now have a $299.00 piece of junk!
At $300, the ASIAIR is definitely not a high end device, but you should be able to make it work within its limits.
Check to make sure the power connector on your cable is a 5.5mm x 2.1mm barrel plug.
The connector looks very similar to the 5.5mm x 2.5mm connector, but the center pin that ASIAIR uses is 2.1mm, not 2.5mm. The outer barrel (5.5mm) are identical, otherwise.
If you use a 2.5mm connector (very common standard for when you need to carry more than 5 amps), the connector will not make consistent connection with the center pin in the ASIAIR's power socket. It will make intermittent connection when you wiggle the plug.
If your power supply comes with a 5.5mm/2.5mm jack, you will need a cable with a 5.5mm/2.5mm plug on one end, and a 5.5mm/2.1mm plug on the other end.
