TRACKING repeatedly turns itself off

i OWN A CEM40EC which is less than a year old.
Last night, an intermittent problem became a constant problem and has crippled the mount.
My configuration is:

battery power ---> mount ---> ASIAIR pro ---> cameras, etc. (handbox not plugged in)

This configuration has been stable for quite a while but last night the TRACKING software
switch in the ASIAIR MOUNT TAB would turn itself off after 10 seconds or so, disabling tracking.

I looked for obvious causes like low battery voltage, cable snagging, etc. but these were
all ok.

Can you offer any suggestions, please?

Since it appears to have always been a problem, but happening more often now, has the ambient temperature changed much in the meantime?

The reason I ask is that if the mount backpowers, the amount of backpowering can vary with temperature. So, I would check to see if the mount's USB port is backpowering the USB port in the ASIAIR. The Raspberry Pi is very sensitive to this problem.

If you measured and find that there is backpowering (5V coming out of the USB port of the mount, and greater than the 5V at the ASIAIR USB connector), simply cut the 5V line in the USB cable, or get one of these things:

Be sure to get a USB power blocker and not a USB data blocker (many more of those around at Amazon), which has an opposite effect :-).
