easybob95 I guess Bayer pattern is rggb but I suspect an special Bayer pattern with the imx485.
As I mentioned earlier, the color filters lets near-IR through on all three color components under the Bayer mosaic. Unless you use an IR cut filter, IR will leak through to all components -- i.e., something on the far red end will leak through to contaminate the blue and green components.
The way to use these special color sensors (meant for video surviellance both at daytime and nighttime) is to use an IR-cut filter if you want to use it a "regular" RGB camera, and use an IR-pass filter when you want to capture near IR.
Even your ASI178MC sensor will let through a good amount of IR to all three color components, but ZWO had placed an IR cut filter on those cameras, assuming that people want to use it for regular RGB imaging. So, very little IR reaches the sensor to alter the colors.
With the ASI485, ZWO used a clear window, since the IR sensitivity is very attractive for those who need it (lower amounts of atmospheric turbulence for planetary and auto-guiding).
If you want to primarily use it as an RGB camera, simply replace the protection window with an UV-IR cut filter. ZWO sells those pieces of glass (in two sizes) in both UV-IR cut models and clear anti-reflection coated models. Just unscrew the flange of the camera in a dust free environment, pop out the existing window and replace with a UV-IR cut window. It is a 1 minute operation, unless you let in some dust, and then it might turn into a hours-long process to clear the dust.
Or, you can just add an external UV-IR cut filter.
