hurtel Has anyone a good idea why this happens?
No good idea.
However, not being able to see a device often comes down to four things:
1) not enough power to power a bus-powered device. Did you add any other USB devices to the ASIAIR? If so, remove them, since they could be hogging the available power (5.1V at 1.1A) from the ASIAIR. Check the 12V power to the camera to make sure it hasn't fallen below 12V.
2) too may tiers of USB. Did you add a hub recently between the camera and the ASIAIR? This would only be a problem if you had added two USB hubs, each with more than 4 ports (remember that the USB hub at the camera adds one tier)
3) the USB driver (I believe both the EFW and EAF uses USB HID) is somehow not loading, or not working. Try reverting back to the original copy of the ASIAR firmware (the one you archived away when you first received the camera), then let the ASIAIR app in your tablet update it to the firmware that matches the current version of ASIAIR.
4) just poor USB hardware implementation in the ASIAIR or camera, or poor software execution. I have an ASI183 Pro whose on-camera USB hub never worked since day 1 -- but since I don't use that hub, I didn't bother to return the camera (I did inform my dealer, in case I want it fixed one day)
