I have tested the new version two nights, it is a great sucess, a lot of improvements & all things are running correctly.

@ASIAIR@ZWO#58633 Thank you! Please, let me know if have to run more tests at my end.

I have one issue which is present for a while now. If telescope is autoguiding on the west side of meridian, when I slew to east side, calibration data is not automatically flipped and autoguiding goes haywire. I have to manually flip it. However after automatic meridian flip calibration is flipped and everything goes well. Only slewing back to east side doesn't flip calibration data.
I have gem45 2020 version and Asiair pro.

    This is correct behavior.

Only a GOTO command to the mount will cause a mount to perform a Meridian Flip. A slew command will not.

This is how the ASIAIR causes the mount to perform a Meridian Flip (what ZWO calls an "Automatic Meridian Flip") by sending a GOTO command at the proper time.

You can check this out on your mount's controller. You can slew anywhere you want (usually a warning that you are slewing too close to the Sun), including across the Meridian. Only a GOTO from the hand controller will perform a Meridian Flip, if the pier side demands it.

With slew I ment GOTO. Even after turning asiair pro on from park position first GOTO command there is no change in calibration direction east or west from meridian. It actually shows last used direction from previous session no matter on which side of meridian telescope actually is. Only after automatic meridian flip direction changes.
This is obviously a bug or I just don't know better.

Do you mean mount hand controller and not asiair?

        Both.

chrisastro it’s absolutely ridiculous we have to search for beta versions at all! Someone needs to pull the finger out and fix the issue of eq6-r pro newer chipsets not connecting to usb cable

Hi... I am still having the issue with going to objects close to the celestial equator. The DEC coordinate is inverted and plate-solving fails.

Anyone else with this issue? Bad timing with Jupiter being in opposition. I do not have this problem with KStars/EKOS.

Actually, the problem is "only" with negativ DEC values between -1° and 0°. I confirmed this with 12, 13, and 14 Piscium. 12 and 13 Piscium are around 0° -57' DEC, while 14 Piscium is at DEC = -1° 07'. For the latter, the GOTO worked with plate-solving - no issue. For the other two it did not and the mount always slewed to the corresponding positive/inverted DEC values.

Could anyone, please, double check this with his/her mount?

        I am using the latest beta version of ASIAIR/FW (2.0 (52) - 10.34).

OK. Figured it out. It is an issue with the SkySafari INDI driver on the mount controller. Not an ASIAIR issue!

With every beta of 2.0.0 I noticed the saving process of images shot in Preview mode takes a lot longer than in earlier firmwares. Not only that, the app crashes regularily when hitting the save button.

w7ay Darks will probably be more beneficial to oag users imaging at f11

I would like to make a feature request. I have been reading about how to connect a Goto Alt-Azmuth mounts to ASIAIR. Most users recommend you use the app that came with the mount to star align, then use ASIAIR and continue from there.

It works, sometimes, but things go bad with the alignment quickly, especially if attempting to GOTO within ASIAIR.

It would be nice to have a 1,2,3 star alignment setup within ASIAIR and tracking for non-equatorial mount setups. Maybe allow PA to change to Align depending on the mount setup.

Having the ability to GOTO and plate solve directly in ASIAIR consistently would be a wonderful feature for EAA with visual astronomy.

Right now, when it is working for the few minutes or so that it is, its an amazing feature. It just does not allow alt/az aligning, tracking and GOTO loses its orientation.

What mount are you using? I have been using an Alt-Az mount (RST-135 in Alt-AZ mode) with the ASIAIR Pro for about a year. I have no problem. I first {Home} the mount, select an object in Preview mode, it slews to the area of the object, plate solves, and eventually centers it. No star alignment is necessary which is why I love this combination. Otherwise I would have to do a 5-star alignment with this mount to get good accuracy.

Sky Watcher Virtuoso GTi . Thanks, I will try what you suggest.

I have yet to be able to activate the "Tracking" button on the ASIAIR. I have to begin tracking with the APP, but then slewing with the ASIAIR controls deactivates the tracking and I have to go back to the app and toggle it off/on to begin the tracking.

            John D,

I tried you suggestion, and the alignment seemed to just about work. There are still problems.
            1) It took 10-15 minutes to GoTo to my target object, kinda. There were tons of plate solving issues. It world fail plate solving many times before there was a success. It finally did move near the target, but it failed the plate solve several times until it gave me an option to "retry" or "stop". I stopped at that point. Plate solving while in the preview mode work just about everytime. So I don't know what the difference between the Goto plate solve failing, and the preview plate solve working fine.
            2) The star field slowly moved out of view. It seems that tracking is not turned on by ASIAIR, and if I turn it on with the synscan app it will stop tracking as soon as I move to another goto object with ASIAIR or sometimes the tracking just turns off. Would be nice to turn on the sidereal/lunar tracking @ 1x,0,75x,0,5x on the ASIAIR.
