Is IR videography possible with ASI662 and if yes then at what wavelenghts?

What is the light throughput characteristics of the optical sealing window of ASI662 camera?

Not with the existing camera window, which according to their manual, is an IR cut filter.

The UV/IR sealing window removable?

Yes. ZWO sells a D21 size clear anti-reflection coated (AR) glass window that you can replace the existing IR cut window with, if you want to do near-IR work.

In the past, ZWO's IR cut filters also cut UV, so I expect this one is the same.

Yes, but you have to purchase separately. You first insert this ring all the way into the M42 thread of the camera:

You then screw a 1.25" filter to it.

A M42 T2 tube then is screwed in over the filter, into the remaining M42 thread of the camera flange.

I often use this method to add a filter to my guide scope.

There is a 1.25" nosepiece came with the camera, it has 1.25" thread.

I have a ASI662 on order. It appears to be configured like most of their planetary cameras. Regarding threads for a filter on my ASI485, there is no spot for filter. You would have to use the 1.25" nosepiece or use a T2 to 1.25" filter adapter to add a filter.

So if I wanted to purchase the optional camera lens adapter for ASI662 and have the possibility to shoot with camera lens attached besides "basic" use with in 1,25" telescope focuser, i would have to purchase both 1,25" and 2" UV/IR cut filters to filter out UV? According to ASI there is no option to attach the 1,25" filters in their camera lens adapter.
By the way I happen to own an old QHY5 an AL-ccd5 variant which have both 1,25" filterthread (inner) and T2 -thread (outer) build in the camera body itself which in my opinion is optimal design and hoping ZWO would implement it to their cameras some day.

Just answer this question by YES or NO.

Please confirm with your technicians before replying. I don’t need you to read and copy the manual. I need to know the exact characteristics of the glass you put on this cam.

There definitely seems to be some confusion about the protective window on the ASI662. ZWO's documentation for the ASI662MC's protective window has different information depending on where you look. In the PDF version I downloaded a little over a year ago, the protective window is an "IR D211mm". Their online specs indicates that it is "φ21-1.1 AR" protective window (whatever "φ" means I don't know). Since it is an upgrade to the ASI462MC which has a "D211mm AR" protective window, I assumed that it is just an AR dust/humidity protective window, so I have screwed in an IR/UV cut filter to mine.

ZWO: When I tried to access manuals to download the latest one (https://www.zwoastro.com/downloads), unfortunately the page was not found.

johnpd I’m in the exact same situation here. After reading the previous posts in this thread I’m not sure anymore what glass is used on my 662MC . So I checked on the Internet and it’s even more confusing.
I’m using a UV/IR cut filter on the camera but want to be sure I’m not adding useless glass in my imaging system.

Lain402 You can find the specifications on the manual, it is D21 AR glass, no IR UV cut.
