Powering EAF via USB charger?

Is it possible to use the EAF manual control without connecting the EAF to the computer, simply powering it via a typical cell USB charger?
My goal is to use quickly my telescope for visual observation without having to unscrew the EAF's junction to free up the focuser.

Yes, that will work fine.

You can use any powered USB source, including a small USB power bank. Even an iPad will power it through a USB dongle.
