fireastro After multiple nights and attempts of adjusting the tilt plate the readings from CCDI and ASTAP have the terrible results.
Notice that there are two sets of screws, that when you draw a line between them, the line is parallel to the long axis of the sensor. Mark these two with some white chalk marker or Gaffer tape.
When you are adjusting, first adjust these two sets of screws to reduce the tilt in the long axis ("left-right" tilt). When you are happy that there is no tilt in the long axis, go to the third screw to adjust the short axis tilt. When this is done, repeat until you are happy with the overall result.
Trying to adjust all three screw are the same time is quite confusing. So, just do the two axes one after another.
That being said, if you are using the camera on more than one OTA, remove the tilt of the camera (without the OTA) only if needed. I have posted links on this forum to DIY jigs (and the jig Starlight Xpress uses) to adjust camera tilts. Use the tilt adjuster on the OTA to remove the OTA's tilt (many come with it, and if not, you can get after-market tilt adjusters (up to M68, from Baader). The good tilt adjusters allow you to adjust the tilt from the edge of the adjuster -- the screws are not obstructed by filter wheels and OAG, unlike the ones on ZWO's cameras.
