There is perhaps a difference of a factor of 100,000 to 300,000 in exposure value between clear daytime and clear nighttime. Sun and Moon saturates the sensor in both cases.
I typically see something like 0.001 second exposure with 0 dB gain for daytime, versus 10 seconds at night with 27 dB gain.
