USB-C port

Hi guys,
Can I use USB-C port as a memory drive using usb-c stick or I can use SD Card only? All of my USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports are already taken.
Somewhere I read here that USB-C is only for tranferring the data from ASIair to the pc. Is it true?

It is only for connecting to another device. If you are out of ports, get a usb 3.0 hub for additional devices (I suggest powered).

chaosnix68 thank you for your advice! I was thinking about SD card before, but I will rather get USB 3.0 hub.
