Hi...
try this:
install the free app ccleaner then delete asiair app. CCleaner will ask to you if you want to delete it completely. After that try to install the asiair app again.
Asiair 2.0 app on M1 Mac stuck in portrait mode and cuts off half the screen
Made no difference, but thanks. Now if I can get ZWO to admit they have a Mac app and fix it all would be well.
ZWO support finally gave me a non-blow off reply and asked for logs. However I cant generate them since the app is unusable in its current state and I cant access that menu.
I am running beta Mac OS with Venture 13.2. Im assuming something changed in the latest Mac updates and ZWO didnt update their code to address. Im assuming it's a very quick fix for them when they get their act together.
What is everyone else running who has this issue?
I finally got a response (non response) from ZWO. Here it is:
"I checked with the devs - the Mac M1 is not yet validated as ready and may encounter issues and will not be finalised to a future version.
As I said right now its untested and will be announced when its fully passed all tests."
Not yet validated? It was offered in the Mac store. Was it labelled a beta? These guys are clueless. So a bunch of us are using their software, and they could care less. I would have been a lt happier if they said they'd look into it and fix it.
At least when I installed ASIAIR app into my M1 Mac it vas listed as an iPad/iOS app. Not Mac app. There is a button in the Appstore which shows to you also iPad/iOS applications. Some of those can be installed and some of those that can be installed works fine in Mac, but not all. It is some kind of mystery what you are complaining here.

Sorry if I'm not being clear. I was offered an ASIAIR app in the Mac app store. It stated on the developer page that it ran on M1 Macs. It ran fine, and I liked it in preference to running the app on my iPad. Suddenly, the app stoped working on my Mac.
I wrote ASIAIR support and they denied having a Mac app. Now they say they don't support the app that they previously offered. So we have several people who were happy to run the app from their Mac, and suddenly, it doesn't work. We'd like it fixed.
Clear?
Ventura 13.2(a). Thanks for finally responding. There are others who have responded who have the problem, and I know at least one person who has the problem who does not post here. I said in my original note I expect this is something Apple did, but beta versions have a way of becoming official release versions and then everyone has the problem.
Thanks again. It should not be hard to find this and fix it.
ASIAR is a wonderful addition for telescope users. My plan is to buy another ASIAIR for another telescope I have. It's so superior to running a PC laptop with a bunch of software.
So when there was a version that worked on a Mac it was a big deal. I'm happy to test any beta versions and report back.
I'm an Apple developer.
Thanks again.
Hara
Yes, I'm an Apple developer. I said in my original note the the cause of this may be Apple. But as I've also said changes apple makes often find their way into release versions. Chances are it is an easy fix. The ASIAIR worked on previous versions of the Apple OS (beta) and I'd like to see the issue fixed. Pretty simple really. If they can't get a beta version to try, well, then, I, and the other users with issues are blocked. Of course anyone can get the beta release without being a developer....one only has to sign up.

Hooray! It's fixed in the latest Apple beta. Haven't hooked everything up yet, but ran the ASIAir and it's now full screen. Beta was released today.... Mac OS 13.2.

Hey - thanks for looking into It @FJQFJQ. Confirmed the latest 13.2 beta 3 resolved it.
Settle down there Hara. We reported a bug. And we isolated that bug to the latest beta OS. Would you have preferred we not report the issue and ZWO get blindsided when the OS was released to prod and cause issues for the community at large? There is nothing more valuable to developers than passionate users helping track down edge case bugs.
