How to connect M54 filter drawer to the ASI 2600 MC Pro tilt plate ??

Hi all,

I've just bought an OAG-L + filter drawer 54, I trusted the diagram mentioned below, and I was trying to figure out how to attach both to my... ASI 2600 MC Pro !??

According to the diagram above, available on the Zwo backfocus 55mm explanation page, it's possible, but I don't know how since the tilt plate requires M42 diameter and the filter drawer is 54mm of course !
My 2600 MC Pro is not full frame of course, but the tilt plate seems to be M42 for both full frame and APS-C, isn't it ?

I don't see any accessory mentioned to do that ! :-(

Is there an M54 tilt plate to screw on the camera side instead of the original one ?

Thanks for your help, and hope this is possible since I would have spent 300 $ for nothing !

I believe you need the ZWO-M42-Plate described here, scroll down to APC sensor diagram.....?
You would sub the EFW for your M54 filter drawer respectively.

I came across this page a little while after posting, and indeed, found out not the M42 that would be useless in my case since I'm looking for a solution to attach the M54 side of the filter drawer to the ASI 2600 MC Pro camera, but the M54 tilt plate !

It looks like the screw holes are positioned the same way and by group iof 3 just like the M42 original one, but I would just like to be sure of that before I order it!

This way is for M68 OAG and full frame cooled camera.
The back focus distance of OAG-L is not the same as M68 OAG, OAG-L also need a 5mm tilt plate to connect to your telescope, if you have ASI2600MC Pro and OAG-L, you can refer to this way.

Do you mean that the M54 tilt plate I mentioned can't replace the original M42 ?

I already saw the proposal you mention, however, it doesn't solve at all the issue or I missed something !

On the telescope side, again, I have no problem, I can use M48, however, on the camera side, even this 15mm M54 adapter can't be screwed to an M42 tilt plate !

Adding the M54M-M48F doesn't make any difference !

Tell me how you can screw a female M48 to a female M42 part and I'll get my answer !

Else, the M54 tilt plate screwed to the ASI 2600 MC pro in lieu of the M42 tilt plate, looks the ideal candidate provided that holes are positioned the same way as for the M42 stock tilt plate comining along with the AS 2600 MC pro !

I can't believe that a solution dsplayed has not been thought over !

philippe If you have 55mm back focus requirement, you can't use the M54 tilt plate to replace the M42 tilt plate on the camera, because the back focus distance will reach 60mm. because you also need a 5mm tilt plate to connect the OAG-L to the telescope.

Oops, you're definitely right, I had forgotten to take into account the total and didn't notice that we were already over the 55mm ! :-(

I was used to standard OAG version and of course we don't need the tilt plate to connect to the telescope, therefore I had the usual elements in mind after the OAG and it was within the 55mm with it included...

So it's now crystal clear, I'll have to buy the 15mm adapter but alas, it'll be less comfortable to change my filter, but I've no other choice at the moment...

My question is what is the point of selling a filter draw that you can attach to your ASI 2600MC camera and OAG-L if you want me to buy another spacer that you can screw in a filter? Why offer that option?

Figzphotos M68 OAG is different from OAG-L.
M68 OAG has M68 threads on the telescope side. but OAG-L does not have it, it needs an extra 5mm filter to connect to the telescope, in this case, 20mm filter drawer is not compatible with OAG-L for 55mm back focus solution.

So why is it offered this way???? Even the diagram shows 17.5mm + 20mm + 17.5 = 55mm. Why have this as an option if you still need to add a 5mm plate??
