Hello all,
I am in need of advice for the proper selection of an OAG+guide camera.
I have a Celestron C11 (non-Edge), a Crayford style focuser (JMI Evo), and an ASI183mm Pro camera.
I next want to add an OAG to my image train. At first I was going to select the basic ZWO OAG and a helical focuser. But after researching guide cameras (ASI 120, 174, 290) I discovered that I need to have as wide a field as possible due to the long focal length of my OTA. Therefore, I think the 174 would be best. However, the 174 has a 11.3mm x 7.1mm sensor, which exceeds the 8x8 width of the OAG prism. So that takes me to the OAG-L with a 12x12 prism.
In the future, I want to add a ZWO 36mm filter wheel.
Would the ASI174 and OAG-L be best for my setup? Or, am I over thinking this, and should choose a different guide camera?
Would the OAG-L also be compatible with a 36mm filter wheel?
Thanks!
