2600MM "Exposure Failed" Every Image Attempt

My ASI2600MM is giving "Exposure Failed" to every attempt at an image. Replaced cables, rebooted everything multiple times, changed on and off every setting. If I set my guide camera asi120mm to the main camera it works, but the ASI2600mm set as the guide camera fails with an error on the guide screen. Tried leaving everything unplugged for 20 minutes. Nothing.

I connected my ASI533MC to the same cables (just unplugged the 2600 and plugged in my 533MC in place, and it works great. Plug back in the 2600mm and 'exposure failed'.

It was working just fine for polar align, auto focusing, but when I set to autorun and left it, it errored out. See auto run log below. I stopped auto run twice, once to turn on guiding cause I forgot and again to change the 20 light frames to 15 cause 20 SHO would take too long. When I started auto run again at the end, I get "2023/02/15 20:07:27 Exposure 600.0s image 1# failed" now it wont take an image. Anyone heard of, or seen a solution to this?

jedashford Did you power the camera via a 12V power supply? power issue may cause this problem.
Also, please directly connect the camera to PC, and test it in latest version ASIStudio, if it exposure failed all the time, your camera may need to be shipped back for repair.

Looks like a problem only when it is a long exposure. The cases you mentioned working all have short exposure times.

This kind of points to a power problem, either from your source, or internal to the camera.

As an additional check, perhaps you can try a long (say 60 second) exposure with the cooler turned off, but with the 12 V suppy connected, since that camera cannot be supplied through USB power. This will minimize any extra loading of the 12 V line.

If you have a 12 V battery, try a battery too, since that would preclude power supply noise; although from your desciption, it is suspiciously like insufficient power, and not noisy power.

Nevertheless, they should have the courtesy of responding to you. Just remember this experience when you shop for astronomy devices in the future.

Tech@ZWO I tried 3 different 12v power supplys. When connected to my mac, i was able to get it to work, then it worked in the ASI AIR, but then stopped again about 10 minutes later, then wouldn't connect to the mac again....

I contacted support at ZWO, but they don't really respond. I have one request from 7 days ago that they won't respond, and this one from a day ago and no response. Checked spam folders, nothing. I don't know if you're just really backed up over there or what.

Also, did you upload the log in the ASIAIR? if not, please reproduce the problem in ASIAIR then submit the log(About -> bug report), then tell me the case number, we will analyze it asap. thanks.

Even short exposures would fail. Tried sub 1 second. I tried 3 different power supplies directly connected to the camera, and 3 different usb cables from multiple camera boxes and another I had in my home. Keep in mind I tried all of these with my 533MC and not a single problem, but none worked with the 2600MM. Sometimes if I connected to my computer I'd get an image or two, but then it would lock up and I'd get errors, restart the camera, and then nothing works.

I worked with support who sent me to the RMA to return it for repair. Thank you guys for helping.

I, too, am experiencing this issue. I've used the camera a total of six sessions, and for the first four this issue did not occur so it is new. That said, I only have about five total hours on this camera. I had always powered the camera from the ASIair plus (newer model). I am using a GoLabs R500 for power so no issues as far as the base power source. I did attempt to power the camera directly from the GoLabs but still had the issue. I also replaced the USB cable with the heavier 'all blue' USB and still having issues. All other suggestions welcome. Thanks much.
