PMTeam@ZWO I don't know what you use in your software but Gphoto2/Libphoto2 support changing the manual focus position of Sony Lens. The only issue is that the manual focus command can only move the lens +/- 7 steps for larger moves need to be broken up into multiple commands to move 7 or fewer steps at a time. I don't own an ASIAIR but would buy one if it could focus my Sony camera.

User 1 Please be careful not to let the USB3.0 cable close to the antenna
2 Connect the camera to the computer to see if it can be recognized
3 Replace the cable and try the USB port

@PMTeam@ZWO: how about the display speed of the preview image after it's downloaded from Asiair to table/phone?In my case after download the image is displayed slowly..after 6=7 seconds when in BIN 1 which is very annoying.IOn version 1.9.1 the image is displayed instantly.This happens both with Canon 250D and ASI 533MC PRO.Both,my tablet and phone have 4GB RAM yet the displaying of preview image is slow.I idn't change anything in the configuration.It's very annoying because when I do autorun due to this lagging in displaying the image(yet the download speed is 6-9MB/s) I can't tell which exposure I am at coz they display so slowly.

The same thing happens to me with the asi585 and 678 cameras, the download speed is 4-5 mb and it takes 8-10 seconds to update the image on the tablet display

PMTeam@ZWO I checked my camera. All of those settings were already off.
I never had those issues when i shot with just the camera.

I think you're too quick to release updates without properly white and black box testing them for long periods. V2 ruined a lot for me. I changed back to factory firmwares and v1.9 app and all the problems introduced with v2 seem to have gone away.

Astrop Exactly.I'd rather wait for 6 months for a really well tested firmware update than having to reset the AA+ everytime since the version 2.0 has been released.Now version 2.1 has bugs on guiding,latency on displaying the image after download...yet the saga keeps going on.For me the most stable firmware is 1.9.1.Everytime there is an update I'm hoping is going to be better than the last one but it's the opposite.It's a shame because these updates add many cool things but lack in functionality.They fix something and on the other hand break stuff that worked very well before.

Astrop Can you please tell me how to change back to v 1.9. I assume it's in the firmware portion of the AIR, but when I tried to indicate a 'previous version' I didn 't have an option....how, exactly, do you revert back to the older version?

larkinsen 1.9 was a massive update which pretty much sorted everything. And it works. Done many many hours with it. With v2 I've spent more hours setting up and trying to fix issues than imaging so gave up on it. At the moment the only thing v1.9 needed was an up to date target list (eg recent comets).

If you want to update v1.9 and give something genuinely useful, give proper planetary imaging exposure controls and allow saving as images, I still use astroberry for this as it allows much better control, custom ROI thus using the high speed FPS frame rate of the cameras as advertised by the company and not saving as standard 25/30fps video which doesn't freeze the seeing so well.

Is it possible to download and install earlier firmware for the ASIAIR Plus? And is it possible to download and install earlier versions of the app as well? This could resolve a lot of issues people have when changing firmware or software. Please consider offering earlier versions of both ASIAIR Plus firmware and earlier versions of the Android app as well.

Psy1280 I'll tell you how.But you gotta have the 1.9.1 apk firmware which unfortunatelly ZWO doesn't display on it's site.I don't know why are they doing this...but I always download the apk package everytime they release a new version...and store it on my pc.Version1.9.1 apk is the one you need.I think someone on this forum gave a link to download it.After you get the apk,you're copying it to your phone/tablet.Then you start asiair plus and the actual app(v2.1),connect to asiair device and reset firmware to version 8.Then you turn off the asiair plus device.After that you go on your phone and remove the asiair app.After you do that go where you copied the 1.9.1 apk firmware on the phone and install it from there.If everything goes well you'll get the message that Asiair has been installed.You don't open the app yet.Turn on the Asiair plus device,wait untill the beep.Then start the newly installed app and you follow the steps and it will update the firmware from version 8(factory version) to version 1.9.1 of the app that you have installed.

Psy1280 as per larkinsons reply which explains how to do it. Just the last bit is not explained properly, it will install the latest firmware available at the time the app was published, app version number and firmware version of the asiairs are different numbers. App version is now on v2.1, firmware is on something like 10.47. When I rolled back my pro it went from firmware v4.something to v9.something.

Thanks for your response on how to install previous firmware, Unfortunately, I'm truly tech-challenged, I'm afraid this is a bit too complicated for me. I'm trying to remain optimistic that this can all be resolved through ZWO, however, if not, I seriously may have to consider upgrading from my trusty AVX to a new mount ($$$$) I do love the ASIAIR and can't imagine going back to a laptop, etc., etc.

Psy1280 Or you can buy a mini computer (Beelink or MeLE Quieter2Q Fanless Mini PC )and install Nina on it then connect remotely to it from your tablet using google remote desktop.Then you can use any camera or focuser not being restricted only to ZWO products like with Asiair.Much cheaper than investing in another mount.I personally have th Skywatcher HEQ5 pro mount and I'm very pleased with it.Plus connection with asiair is a breeze.

Thanks, but I went that route and always ran into issues with divergent programs, etc.. and, I happen to absolutely love the ease of the ASIAIR. I'm addicted :-) (for better or worse)

Astrop Of course it did because first two numbers are app version and the others are firmware You thought if you revert to the previous version the app will stay the same and only the firmware will change?No way.Both of them change. I thought you knew that.
